NSB Employees Raise Money for Sweet Paws Rescue

NSB Employees Choose Sweet Paws Rescue as a Jeans Day Recipient

PEABODY, MA — (www.northshore-bank.com) North Shore Bank recently announced the donation of $1,226 to Sweet Paws Rescue in Groveland, MA. The proceeds were given by bank employees through their weekly “Jeans Day” program, which was started in 2015 and has contributed over $55,000 to local charities and non-profits. In exchange for $5 each week, the bank’s staff is allowed to wear jeans to work on Fridays with the funds collected, pooled, and then donated to an area charity nominated by a bank employee.

Lisa Chochrek, Appraisal Review Officer for North Shore Bank, recommended Sweet Paws Rescue as the recipient of their August Jeans Day dollars. Sweet Paws Rescue is a local non-profit “shelterless” dog rescue that finds homes for dogs from Mississippi, Alabama and Massachusetts and works to improve legislation and awareness of dog rescue in these areas.

Chochrek said:

“I learned about Sweet Paws Rescue from my longtime friend Heidi Murphy, who became involved with the organization when she both volunteered and provided photography services for them.” She went on to say, “She would often talk about her experiences with the rescue since she knew that we shared a love for animals. I knew the bank’s Jeans Day program would be great way to raise money and help these dogs.”

Cynthia Sweet, Founder and Director of Sweet Paws Rescue said of North Shore Bank’s Jeans Day contribution:

“The funds raised from this generous donation will allow us to vaccinate, microchip and spay/neuter a whole litter of puppies.” She continued, “We can’t rescue these dogs without partnerships with local businesses like North Shore Bank.”
