04.26.2016NSB's Weekly Jeans Day Program Raises $16k for Non-Profits in it's First YearWhen North Shore Bank introduced a weekly Jeans Day program the organization wasn’t really too sure what to expect. After all, banks are not typically known for their informality and this would certainly be a departure. However, with a goal of raising funds for area non-profits employees were allowed to wear jeans to work each Friday in exchange for a $5 contribution. These proceeds would then be pooled for the month and donated to an area charity chosen by employees. One year into the program, the results have been dramatic.
03.03.2016NSB Sponsors the Annual George Peabody House Third Grade Essay ContestFor the past twenty-seven years, between September and December, all third-graders from Peabody’s elementary schools visit the place of George Peabody’s birth to learn about their city’s namesake and his philanthropic ventures. After their tour, the children are asked to write an essay on what they have learned. The top three are chosen and displayed in all the schools throughout the remaining school year.
