NSB Sponsors Peabody's Kid's Day Celebration

PEABODY, MA — ( Once again, North Shore Bank was the major sponsor of Peabody’s Kid’s Day Celebration and has donated $2,500 to the day’s event.  This year’s festival was held in conjunction with the city’s Annual International Festival on Sunday, September 10th. The Kid’s Day Celebration took place at Veterans Memorial Park on Walnut Street and included food, games and entertainment for kids of all ages.

Kevin M. Tierney, Sr., President and Chief Executive Officer of North Shore Bank said,

“As the city’s hometown community bank, we have been supporting this event for many years, and we are very proud to continue that support.” He added, “It’s a great day for the community and a lot of fun for the kids.”

Mary Bellavance, Co-Chairwoman of the festival planning committee commented,

“This festival, along with the Kid’s Day Celebration, has really become a signature event for the city of Peabody.” She went on to say, “North Shore Bank has stepped up every year to make sure this a very special community event.”

Held on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, entertainers performed on two stages located at each end of Peabody Square.  Over seventy booths featured food from the many ethnic groups that enrich the community, and artists from around the North Shore displayed their works in the International Festival Galleria.  The festival was free and open to the public, and has become a favorite event on the North Shore, drawing as many as 90,000 people from all over the region. 

For the second year, North Shore Bank also donated the parking lot at their 32 Main Street branch for the festival’s beer garden, which was coordinated by the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce.

Mayor Edward Bettencourt, Jr. thanked North Shore Bank for its continued support, not only to the International Festival and Kid’s Day Celebration, but for all that they do for the city of Peabody throughout the year.
