North Shore Bank Makes a Three Year Commitment to The Children's Center for Communication

NSB Makes a Three Year Commitment to The Children's Center for Communication

The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf (CCCBSD) has announced the construction of an enclosed handicapped accessible connector with a ramp to connect their main school building with the Burnham Gymnasium. This connector will allow students access to the gymnasium throughout the school year, increasing the number and types of adapted physical education opportunities available to the entire student body.

Representatives of North Shore Bank recently visited the facility for a tour of the construction and to present Dr. Mark Carlson, CCCBSD President and Executive Director, with the first of three donations to the organizations campaign to raise money for a new Connector Project. The Bank’s total contribution will be $21,000.

Dr. Carlson stated:

“North Shore Bank’s commitment to this campaign and project is greatly appreciated and will truly leave a lasting impact on the lives of the students we serve.” He went on to say, “We are proud to be a member of this community along with all the individuals, businesses and foundations that support the work we do. Without them, none of this would be possible.”

North Shore Bank President and CEO, Kevin Tierney related:

“The Children’s Center for Communication is an incredible organization that is dedicated to educating students with complex communication and developmental needs.” He continued, “By making this commitment, what we receive in return is the satisfaction of knowing that we may be helping to make it a little easier for the students and families that attend the school.”

The new connector, which is scheduled for completion by the end of the summer, will allow safe access for all students, particularly those in wheelchairs, on crutches and who have other challenges. For more information on how you can support CCCBSD, visit www.cccbsd.org or call 978-927-7070.
