PEABODY, MASSACHUSETTS ( – North Shore Bank recently donated $1,000 to a new softball field that is being built at the Belmont Middle School in Saugus.

Glen Davis, member of the Saugus Youth and Recreation Commission stated, “Throughout the years the bank has repeatedly stepped up to help many fundraising efforts in town.  Their donations are numerous and include supporting Special Olympics Day and sponsoring the TargetCancer Foundation events.  They’re also sponsors of World Series Park every season.”

The new park will be the home of the Saugus Softball Little League which involves hundreds for Saugus girls between the ages of 4 and 16.  The construction of the filed started in December and is being supervised by World Series Park.

Some of the financing has already been pledged, but more is needed.  Individuals, businesses and organizations who would like to donate to this worthwhile project are asked to make checks payable to ‘Saugus Softball Little League’ and sent to Saugus Softball, PO Box 903, Saugus, MA 01906.  All donations will be acknowledged at the spring dedication of the field.
