Saugusbank & Elder Law Center to Sponsor Free Music Event — 12 Bars to the Blues

Saugus, MA  (, ( – On Friday, September 27th the MEG Foundation (54-58 Essex Street, Saugus) will be alive with the strains of blues as the Elder Law Center of Saugus and Saugusbank will present a unique musical experience for the community — 12 Bars to the Blues. Held from 7PM until 10PM, this FREE event will feature a group acoustic guitar lesson, followed by a jam session.

Ron Surabian, owner of the Elder Law Center of Saugus, discussed the motivation behind the session explaining:

“We’re obviously thrilled to be able to offer this event. Music has always played a big part in my life and it’s rewarding to be able to share this interest with the community.” He further related, “Since we’ve never untaken anything like this before, we’re a little curious about what to expect in terms of participation but we’re hoping that it will be well-accepted and that it can ultimately lead to something more than a one-time event.”

Leading the lesson will be local musician and music teacher, Alexander Knutson. Alexander has been teaching privately since 1995. He is a former National Guitar Workshop faculty member, and has teaching experience from Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. He has toured both nationally and internationally, played on 160+ recording sessions over the years, and is well versed in many styles of music. He is a member of local Boston rock band, Mission Hill, named Top Local Band to watch out for in 2010 by Boston Music Spotlight. Most recently, Mission Hill opened up for Bon Jovi at Gillette Stadium.
