Opening its doors in 1983, Lazarus House Ministries serves those struggling with poverty. Based in Lawrence, one of the poorest cities in New England, the Lazarus House's Food and Clothing Program assists families by stretching their dollars so they can afford rent and utilities. Their Emergency and Transitional Housing Programs provide a place for homeless families and individuals to live, stabilize, learn, and grow.
We are so honored that out of all the wonderful nonprofit organizations that could have benefitted from North Shore Bank's Jeans Day, their staff chose Lazarus House. This generous donation will help us to continue to serve all who come to our doors seeking shelter, food, clothing and so much more.
- Carmen Vega, Executive | Director of Lazarus House Ministries
The Ministry has over 50 full and part-time staff members, over 5000 volunteers, and 6500 donors working together to serve the most vulnerable in our communities. For more information on Lazarus House Ministries, visit www.lazarushouse.org.

About NSB's Jeans Day Program

On any given Friday, anyone visiting a North Shore Bank branch may be surprised to see that the usual pinstripe and wingtip garb has been replaced by blue jeans. That’s because the bank has instituted a weekly Jeans Day program whose purpose is to raise funds for area non-profits.  In exchange for $5 each week, employees can wear jeans to work while the proceeds collected are pooled and then donated to an area charity that has been nominated by an employee. Since it's inception, bank employees have raised over $100,000 for countess area non-profits.
