Colonial Federal Savings Bank Joins North Shore Bank, Strengthening Its Commitment to Community
North Shore Bank recently announced that Colonial Federal Savings Bank has officially joined the North Shore Bank family, uniting two long-standing community banks with a shared dedication to local investment, exceptional customer service, and meaningful community impact.
This partnership brings together two institutions deeply rooted in their communities, expanding resources and enhancing the shared mission to support families, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations across the south shore and beyond. Together, the combined bank will continue to invest locally, prioritize personal relationships, and remain steadfast in its commitment to the neighborhoods it serves.
A key part of this shared mission is The Giving Tree, North Shore Bank’s charitable giving initiative that supports nonprofit organizations working in education, health, youth development, food security, and community well-being. With the addition of Colonial Federal, support for The Giving Tree will grow even stronger, expanding its reach across the south shore and ensuring continued investment in local programs that make a difference.
“As we welcome Colonial Federal Savings Bank into the North Shore Bank family, we are combining the strengths of two organizations that share an unwavering belief in community,” said Michael R. Wheeler, president and CEO of North Shore Bank. “Together, we will build on our legacy of local investment, charitable giving, and neighbor-to-neighbor service. Our partnership allows us to do even more for the communities we proudly call home.”
Recent South Shore Community Donations
Through The Giving Tree, the bank has recently made several donations, totaling $895,000, to nonprofit organizations on the south shore, including:
Adams Presidential Center, Angel Fund for ALS Research, Boston Globe Foundation’s Globe Santa, City of Quincy Department of Elder Services, Quincy Police DARE Program, Holbrook Food Pantry, Interfaith Social Service, Manet Community Health Center, National MS Society, NeighborWorks Housing Solution, Quincy Rotary Club Charitable Foundation, Quincy Community Action Programs, Inc., Quincy Public School Community Partnership, South Shore YMCA, The Katie Crowell Foundation, The Salvation Army, and the Weymouth Food Pantry.
These contributions reflect the bank’s enduring commitment to strengthening local communities—a commitment that will be amplified through the integration of Colonial Federal.
Customers of both banks will continue to receive the personalized service they expect, while gaining expanded access to financial services, technology, and community programs.
