PEABODY, MASSACHUSETTS (www.northshore-bank.com) – Through January 2, 2024, North Shore Bank’s Lafayette Street branch in Salem is assisting this winter’s Lifebridge North Shore Coat Drive by collecting lightly used coats for the homeless community on the North Shore.

For more than three decades, Lifebridge has been working to meet the most urgent needs of the homeless and under-housed on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Lifebridge North Shore began in 1980 when The Crombie Street Congregational Church made it their mission to provide outreach to the homeless population. Initially a soup kitchen that served the homeless two evenings each week, soon grew to a place where meals were being provided on a regular basis seven days a week.

The most impactful pieces of clothing to donate for the cold weather months are typically winter coats. Donating your heavier jackets can go a long way towards keeping the homeless population suitably warm and can have a massive impact when it comes to helping people make it through a difficult time of year.

Other clothes you may want to consider donating are gloves, boots, baby clothes, and winter hats. Taking a few minutes out of your day to donate winter clothes may not seem like much to you, but it could mean everything to someone, somewhere, in need.
