Representatives from North Shore Bank recently visited the Salem Academy Charter School to present them with a $2,000 sponsorship of the schools’ 2021 virtual Reach for College Gala. Salem Academy is a free charter public school serving the diverse student population of Salem with college preparatory programs.

Stephanie Callahan, Executive Director of the School said of North Shore Bank’s donation:

Salem Academy is grateful to be a recipient of such a generous donation from North Shore Bank. The work we do is made possible in part by our outstanding community partners who understand the value of public education.” She added, “We look forward to our continued partnership with the bank and its leadership.

William Henning, Vice President in North Shore Bank’s Commercial Lending Division and a Board Member of the school, said:

I am honored to serve as a board member of Salem Academy Charter School and am proud that North Shore Bank is supporting the work of the school with this sponsorship.” He continued, “The school has an impressive history of graduating students that are prepared for post-secondary education and ultimately the work force.

Charter Schools are independently managed public schools that operate under a five-year charter granted by the Massachusetts Board of Education and have the freedom to organize around a core mission, curriculum, theme, or teaching method. Salem Academy Charter School is a member of the Massachusetts Charter Public School Association (“MCPSA”).
