Peabody, MA (www.northshore-bank.com) — North Shore Bank has awarded two scholarships to recent Peabody Veterans Memorial High School graduates, Isabella DeCicco and Jacob Palhares. Each student received $1,000, and will receive an additional $1,000 once their first semester is complete.

Ranked thirty-second in her class, Isabella DeCicco was a member of the National Honor Society, captain of Peabody’s Field Hockey Team, a member of the Track team, Lacrosse team, Environmental Club and the Best Buddies program. In addition to these extracurricular activities, she maintained two part-time jobs as an Assistant Teacher with Bridge to Learning and a Lead Instructor at the Little Gym in Danvers. This fall, Isabella will be attending Salem State University where she has been accepted to the school’s nursing program.

Ranked 5th in the 2022 Peabody Veterans Memorial High School graduating class, Jacob Palhares was also a member of the National Honor Society. In addition, he also worked with the Tanner Times Newspaper, was a member of Peer Mentoring/Mediation, the Math Team and the Culture Club. He volunteered his time as a math and economics tutor, and was the captain of the school’s baseball team. Jacob will be pursuing a degree in Finance and Accounting at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Since 1987, North Shore Bank has awarded scholarships to deserving graduates. Award recipients are chosen by a committee of bank employees and are based on a combination of criteria, including academic achievement. This year’s committee was comprised of Megan Shea-Pereira, Branch Manager of the Bank’s Andover Street branch, Vicki Cormier, Branch Manager of the Bank’s West Peabody branch, and Chester Graham, Branch Manager of the Bank’s Peabody Square branch.
