North Shore Bank Employees Choose Pathways for Children as a Jeans Day Recipient

PEABODY, MA — ( North Shore Bank recently announced the donation of $1,200 to Pathways for Children in Beverly, MA. The proceeds were given by bank employees through their weekly “Jeans Day” program. The program, which started in 2015, has contributed over $40,000 for local charities and non-profits. In exchange for $5 each week, the bank’s staff is allowed to wear jeans to work with the funds collected, pooled, and then donated to an area charity which is nominated by an employee of the bank.

Mary Beth O’Connell, Vice President and Mortgage Originator for North Shore Bank, recommended Pathways for Children as a recipient of their November Jeans Day dollars and said:

“I heard Kim Paratore, Pathways Manager of Special Events and Campaigns, speak at a local Rotary meeting. Once I learned more about how her organization makes such an immediate impact in the community and saw the passion that she has for helping these children, I instantly thought of North Shore Bank’s Jeans Day program.” She continued, “I’m honored to belong to an organization that makes it a priority to give back.” 

Pathways is a leading provider of education and care programs on the North Shore of Massachusetts, serving over 500 children and their families from 13 communities. Their year-round programming, including Head Start and Early Head Start, serves children from birth to age 13 and their families. Their comprehensive, all-inclusive educational programming offers meals, nutrition assessment, health and developmental screenings, referrals for special education services, family support, enrichment programs and transportation when necessary.

Kim Paratore said of North Shore Bank’s Jeans Day donation:

“The funds raised will be used for our North Shore Head Start classrooms to purchase much-needed clothing for the young children.”  She went on to say, “Our teachers appreciate this generous gift and we are thankful to have North Shore Bank as a partner in our community.”
