PEABODY, MA — (www.northshore-bank.com) — North Shore Bank branch employees visited a number of local food pantries this week to deliver Thanksgiving turkeys. In total, the bank donated seventy frozen turkeys to North Shore and Merrimac Valley non-profits, including Beverly Bootstraps, the Merrimac Senior Center, the Newton New Hampshire Food Pantry, the Citizen’s Inn in Peabody and Saugus’ United Parish Food Pantry.

Kevin M. Tierney, North Shore Bank President and COO said:

“Our goal was obviously to help brighten the holiday season for those in our community who are facing challenges.” He added, “The holidays are not always cheerful for everyone, so we’re pleased to do what we can to help make the season a little more festive.”

The United Parish Food Pantry in Saugus will use the donation to distribute over 110 meals to families living in the community, while Citizens Inn is planning on feeding the more than twenty families that reside in their shelters.

According to Heather Johnston, Director of Donor Relations at Beverly Bootstraps:

“We’re very grateful to North Shore Bank for their continuous support of Beverly Bootstraps. This donation will help us stock the shelves and feed those in need during this Thanksgiving holiday."

The Newton New Hampshire Food Pantry will use the donation to distribute meals to families in need during both the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Laura Dillingham-Mailman, Executive Director of the Merrimac Council on Aging said:

“What an incredible gift to the community . . . we’re so thankful to the employees of North Shore Bank.” She went on to say, “Thanks to the generosity of North Shore Bank we are able to serve a hot Thanksgiving dinner to families in our community.”
