PEABODY, MA (www.northshore-bank.com) – When North Shore Bank established their Jeans Days for Charity program in April of 2015, the goal was to raise money for local non-profit organizations while allowing their employees to dress casual one day a week. Each month, employees designate a different non-profit, and in exchange for $5 they are allowed to wear jeans each Friday. The accumulated funds are then donated to the chosen organization at the end of each month. A year and a half after the program was introduced the bank’s Jeans Day program has contributed over $25,000 to local non-profit organizations and charitable funds.

In September, the bank’s Merrimac branch staff nominated Our Neighbors’ Table, a food assistance organization based in Amesbury, MA. Our Neighbors’ Table provides hot, nutritious meals prepared on-site and a multi-site food pantry program that provides a broad assortment of fresh dairy, meat, and produce, grocery staples, and personal care items. Their programs are made possible by the generosity of local donors and volunteers.

Aimee Martin, Sales and Service Manager of North Shore Bank’s Merrimac branch said:

“It’s pretty hard not to be inspired by Our Neighbors’ Table and their commitment to the surrounding community.” She went on to say, “It was only natural that we would think of them as a potential Jeans Day recipient. We’re really happy to be able to assist them in their mission.”

Our Neighbors’ Table Executive Director Lyndsey Haight said of North Shore Bank’s contribution:

“There are a lot of fun and creative ways the community can help us fight hunger. A big THANK YOU to the employees of North Shore Bank for turning their Jeans Days into 1,000 meals for our neighbors in need!”
