North Shore Bank and the Armed Forces Financial Network Donate to Operation Troop Support

PEABODY, MASSACHUSETTS ( North Shore Bank and the Armed Forces Financial Network (AFFN) recently presented Operation Troop Support (OTS) of Danvers with a check for $1,070.

In 2015 North Shore Bank employees raised money for OTS through their weekly “Jeans Day” program, where in exchange for $5 employees are allowed to wear jeans each Friday.  The accumulated funds are then donated to a chosen organization at the end of each month. Following the Bank’s contribution, they were approved for a matching grant through AFFN. The AFFN Matching Grant Program provides direct support to participating financial institutions, who determine the local need supporting troops and their families in U.S. Military communities worldwide.

Established in March 2003, Operation Troop Support is a 501(c)(3) organization serving deployed men and women in uniform, as well as their loved ones back home. OTS offers a variety of programs ranging from the overseas distribution of care packages to the coordination of military family support groups to the supply of comfort items to military hospitals stateside and abroad.
