North Shore Bank Employees Donate To PALS Animal Life Savers

PEABODY, MA — ( North Shore Bank recently presented PALS Animal Life Savers with a check for $1,170. The proceeds were given by bank employees during the month of July as part of their weekly “Jeans Day” program. In exchange for $5 each week, staff can wear jeans to work with the funds collected pooled and then donated to a local charity.

PALS Animal Life Savers is a no-kill, all-volunteer feline rescue group based in Salem. Every cat in their adoption center has been rescued locally, is spayed/neutered, and is cared for by a team of volunteers.

North Shore Bank President and COO, Kevin Tierney related:

“As a community bank we’re always looking for ways to contribute to local causes. Many of our employees have pets that are beloved members of their family. Once we heard of PALS and what they were doing it was just natural that our staff would want to raise money for such a great organization. We applaud their mission of rescuing these animals and finding loving homes for them, and we’re happy to make them part of our Jean’s Days fund raising.

According to KrisTina Wheeler, President and Managing Director of PALS:

“As a small, all-volunteer organization, we find we have to work a bit harder to get the word out about our feline rescue efforts. It is heartwarming to know our friends at North Shore Bank recognize and appreciate our determination to help rescue and re-home local stray and abandoned cats and kittens.

 Wheeler went on to say:

“We’re mandated by the state to have a veterinarian perform wellness exams on all of our adoptable cats each week. The generosity of North Shore bank employees will ensure our cats and kittens are happy and healthy - and very adoptable. We are funded by adoption fees and donations so this is a huge gift for our "kitty." The deserving cats and kittens at PALS, and all of our volunteers, thank North Shore Bank for supporting our local efforts.”
