Holiday Toy Collection at Saugusbank Results in Donations to Area Organizations

Saugus, MA ( – As in prior years, Saugusbank employees and customers again contributed to a number of holiday toy drives. Throughout the month of December, all Saugusbank branches were again collection sites for the Saugus Fire Department’s annual holiday undertaking. This year, more than two hundred new toys and articles of clothing were donated at the bank to support the department’s program. According to Saugusbank President & CEO, Kevin Tierney:

“We’re extremely proud of our employees and customers; they’ve consistently demonstrated the spirit of the season. Their enthusiasm and generosity never fails to amaze us and there is little doubt that their efforts have made a real difference to those in the community that are less fortunate.”

In addition, Saugusbank employees also participated directly with the BridgeHouse Family Shelter in Lynn—donating toys and clothing that benefited more than twenty families served by the non-profit. Organized by Saugusbank Branch Manager, Deb Alphonse, this effort ultimately garnered more than one hundred items. The organization’s Housing & Stabilization Case Manager, Danielle Rossewey, expressed appreciation when she related:

"We’d obviously like to thank Saugusbank for making this holiday special for our homeless families. Given the current state of our economy, we are not always able to provide the extras, like holiday gifts and it’s thoughtful, generous people like those at the bank that make it possible."
