Jeans Day – The Progeria Research Foundation

North Shore Bank presents $1,535 in Jeans Day dollars to The Progeria Research Foundation.

Progeria is a fatal, rapid aging disease that afflicts children, who die of heart disease at an average age of 14.  Founded in 1999, The Progeria Research Foundation (PRF) is the only organization in the world soley dedicated to discovering treatments and the cure for Progeria and its aging-related disorders, including heart disease.

North Shore Bank's relationship with PRF goes back many years. Since 2002, the bank has been the main sponsor of the organization's annual 5K International Road Race and 3-mile Fun Walk held in Peabody each fall. Because of the bank's strong ties, North Shore Bank employees designated PRF to be the recipient of their March Jeans Day collections.
This generous donation will be used to support the PRF's research programs and clinical trials. The research funded by this donation will lead to better treatment and bring us closer to finding the cure for children with Progeria in the future.
