Town of Newton New Hampshire Food Pantry — Jeans Day

North Shore Bank Jeans Day befefits Town of Newton Food Pantry

One byproduct to the recent North Shore Bank-Merrimac Savings Bank merger has been that NSB employees now have a much broader geographic area from which to choose their monthly “Jeans Day” recipients. As related previously, in exchange for $5.00 each week, staff can wear jeans to work with the funds collected pooled and then donated to an area charity.

The Newton Food Pantry is maintained solely on donations, both of actual items and monetary. This very generous donation from the staff of North Shore Bank will enable us to stock the shelves to help many in need in our community.  The Food Pantry helps families who are struggling financially - on behalf of those people, we are so thankful.”

— Tina O'Rourke
Welfare Agent, Town of Newton NH

Of course North Shore Bankers wasted no time in tapping into this new area, designating the town of Newton, New Hampshire’s Food Pantry. With a branch location at 29 South Main Street, in Newton, New Hampshire and the holidays fast-approaching, it seemed only natural that staff would designate the food pantry as the beneficiary of its November fund-raising efforts.  As a result, bank representatives were on hand at a recent Newton, New Hampshire Board of Selectmen meeting to present a check for $1,000 – all raised from weekly employee contributions.

The Newton, New Hampshire Food Pantry is available to anyone in need by appointment only.  For more information, leave a message for Tina O’Rourke at (603)382-0398.
