Abington Bank’s “Funding Their Futures” Program Provides $17,000 to Local Schools
Abington Bank’s Funding Their Futures program recently awarded more than $17,000 in donations to a dozen schools, school systems, or educational foundations across the South Shore and South Coast.
President and CEO Andrew J. Raczka said the funds are part of the bank’s longstanding commitment to supporting education through funding a variety of programs that benefit local elementary and secondary schools and their students. Through Funding Their Futures, the bank donates $10 for every new Get Real Checking℠ account customers open at Abington Bank. Donations are made each spring for the previous year and can be used in whatever way the school believes will most benefit the school and its students, with no strings attached. In the past, donations have been used for purchasing supplies and equipment; offering educational enrichment programs and events like field trips; funding school music, arts, and sports programs; and more. From the program’s inception in the early 2000s through the end of 2023, this program has distributed more than $67,000.
“We believe that education is the key to bettering yourself on the road to financial independence and empowerment,” said Raczka. “Abington Bank is pleased to support students through enriching their educational experience and unlocking their full potential.”
The schools and school systems receiving donations include the Abington Education Foundation, Avon Public Schools, Braintree Public Schools, Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton, Cohasset Education Foundation, Holbrook Public Schools, Randolph Public Schools, Sacred Heart in Kingston, St. Bridget’s School in Abington, Stoughton Public Schools, and Tri-Town Education Foundation.
