PEABODY, MASSACHUSETTS, May, 2007 … Local dignitaries joined representatives of North Shore Bank on Monday, May 21st for a ribbon-cutting ceremony signaling the opening of the Bank’s new full-service branch office located at 319 Highland Avenue in Salem.

Among those attending the late morning ribbon-cutting ceremony were the Honorable Kimberly Driscoll, Mayor of Salem, Mary Saris, Director of the North Shore Workforce Investment Board, and Rinus Oosthoek, Executive Director of the Salem Chamber of Commerce. They joined Chief Executive Officer Francis J. McCormack and President and Chief Operating Officer David J. LaFlamme in welcoming residents and businesses to the newest North Shore Bank office.

The new branch is located on the same site as the Irving Bluecanoe store, at the corner of Highland Avenue and Swampscott Road. In addition to having a full-service lobby, the new office features two drive-up banking lanes and a 24-hour, drive up ATM.

Mr. McCormack cited the unique convenience of the new location. Along with their banking, customers can now get their gas and buy their morning newspaper and coffee, all in one convenient location. “We chose to partner with Irving due to the fact that they share our commitment to professionalism and outstanding customer service”, McCormack added.

He also explained that “this is North Shore Bank’s second branch in Salem and reinforces the Bank’s commitment to the City of Salem dating back to the merger of the Roger Conant Co-operative Bank in 1982.”

Mayor Driscoll made brief remarks to those in attendance, welcoming North Shore Bank’s second Salem location: “I’d like to thank North Shore Bank for participating in the redevelopment of this important site. The branch is beautiful, and we believe this project is at the forefront of the additional investment being seen in this part of Salem, which is good for the city and its citizens.”
