North Shore Bank Employees Donate to Local Food Pantry
PEABODY, MASSACHUSETTS, August 29, 2007 … Employees of North Shore Bank recently participated in a ‘Cereal Drive’ for a local Haven from Hunger food pantry. Employees of the bank collected over 67 boxes of cereal, along with cereal bars, peanut butter, jelly, instant oatmeal, canned goods, bottles of juice, and a variety of other items. In addition to food items, the employees also raised $50 in a cash donation. All items donated to Haven from Hunger go to single parents, the elderly, the handicapped, and the unemployed, all those on fixed incomes.
“North Shore Bank has always been dedicated to serving the people of the North Shore,” said David LaFlamme, president of North Shore Bank. “Our employees were pleased to do what they could to help make it easier on local families in need.”
The Haven is a non-profit agency with minimal staffing. It relies heavily on the goodwill of volunteers, and donations from people and business in many communities.
North Shore Bank, established in 1888 under State charter, now has seven branches in North Shore communities including Beverly, Danvers, Middleton, Peabody and Salem. The Bank is a member of the FDIC and a member of the SIF.
