James Muse, Michael Brown join North Shore Bank staff PEABODY, MASSACHUSETTS, February 2, 2007 … Two prominent local bankers have joined the senior management staff at North Shore Bank in Peabody, according to an announcement today by Francis J. McCormack, chief executive officer. J Muse, a Certified Financial Planner, has over 20 years of retail banking experience. Prior to serving as a senior executive at Infinex Financial Group, he was the senior retail banking officer at Beverly National Bank. In that position, he was responsible for company-wide marketing strategies, public relations, branch sales management and financial planning services. Earlier in his career, he held management roles at Cambridge Savings Bank, Bank Five for Savings, Andover Savings Bank, and Salem Five Bank. He holds an MBA degree from Fairfield (CT) University, and a bachelor’s degree from Salem State College. He is also a graduate of the National School of Banking, and the American Bankers Association Graduate School of Bank Marketing and Management at the University of Colorado. Muse has served on the Retail Banking Committee of the Massachusetts Bankers Association, and is a past chair of the Massachusetts Bank Insurance Agents Association. He is currently a member of the Financial Planning Association, and is past chair and treasurer of the Massachusetts Retirement Plans Consortium. In the community, he serves on the Board of the American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts. He also has been active with the Beverly Youth Collaboration, North Shore United Way, North Shore Music Theater, and the First Federated Church. He is past president of the Beverly High School Basketball Boosters, and past treasurer of the Beverly Babe Ruth Baseball League. Muse has also served as instructor for various business and personal financial planning courses at New England College of Finance and Endicott College over the past 12 years. M Brown holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lowell, and is also a graduate of the Commercial Lending School at the University of New Hampshire. He is a director with the Mental Health Association of Greater Lowell, and has coached many recreational sports in the town of Dracut. He is a past director of the American Cancer Society and the Lowell and Tewskbury Rotary Clubs, and a past member of St. John’s Hospital Men’s Guild. North Shore Bank, established in 1888 under State charter, now has seven branches in North Shore communities including Beverly, Danvers, Middleton, Peabody, Salem and West Peabody.
