North Shore Bank brightens the holidays for shelter residents
This holiday, employees of North Shore Bank gathered gifts for families in residence at two local shelters operated by Citizens for Adequate Housing. The shelters serve parents from the North Shore and eastern Massachusetts. The Inn Between is an emergency shelter for homeless families, and the Inn Transition offers a nine-month recovery program for homeless families dealing with substance addictions.
Each year, departments throughout the bank are given the names of a family that is in need of some help. Employees then go out and buy gifts and necessities for these struggling families, trying to make their holiday a little brighter.
"The Bank is proud of its employees for taking the initiative to help brighten the holiday season for those in our community who are facing challenges in their everyday lives," said David J. LaFlamme, president and CEO of North Shore Bank. "What they received in return was the satisfaction of knowing that they had made a difference in someone's life. That's a good feeling."
Citizens for Adequate Housing Executive Director Nancy Crowder said of North Shore Bank's philanthropic nature and unwavering support for the Inn Transition and Inn Between shelters, "North Shore Bank is a vital source of support and caring for the homeless families we shelter. We are overwhelmed by the generosity they have shown for so many years."
"The holidays are not festive for everyone in our community," said LaFlamme. "Our employees were pleased to do what they could to help make the season a little brighter for others."
North Shore Bank, established in 1888, is a full-service community bank based in Peabody, Massachusetts. The Bank has eight branches located in five North Shore communities including Beverly, Danvers, Middleton, Peabody, and Salem.
